Company Atlantis Health is a global healthcare company that supports people living with chronic illnesses by designing and delivering personalised patient support programmes to improve adherence and self-management, as well as providing in-home assistance to participants on clinical trials.
We have a team of remote nurses working across Aotearoa New Zealand delivering the interventions, backed by a team of Health Psychology Specialists.
Position: Part time Nursing opportunity – Wairarapa Region Atlantis Health is looking for a highly organised Registered Nurse, living in or near the Wairarapa Region with significant IV cannulation and venepuncture experience to provide home visit support for an international clinical trial.
The successful applicant would perform monthly visits (moving to fortnightly in April 2025) to a trial subject in their home to administer IV infusions of trial medications.
Estimated hours per visit are 3.5 - 5.5hrs excl.
travel depending on visit type.
Travel time is paid and mileage is reimbursed.
All clinical equipment/supplies and training on trial-specific procedures will be provided.
Community nursing or clinical research experience would be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities Cannulate patient to administer IV therapy independently in the patient's home, monitor vitalsConduct other trial assessments as required e.g.
collection of vital signs, weight, urine pregnancy test, collection and processing of blood samples, ECG, cognitive assessmentsRecord adverse events and changes in medication historyAccurately document procedures and data, scan and send documentation to trial team within strict timeframesLiaise with all relevant parties to ensure patient visits are conducted as scheduledAdhere to the trial protocol and clinical standard operating procedures (SOPs)Essential Skills Registered NZ Nursing License; legally able to work in NZ as a Registered NurseMinimum of 2 years post registration experienceCurrent CPR certificationHighly experienced in IV cannulation within the last 2 years; experience with infusion pumpsVenepuncture experienceECG experienceConfident working independently in patients' homesStrong patient care focus and able to build rapport easilyAccurate documentation skills – excellent attention to detailGood verbal and written communication, fluent in English, able to work effectively with a remote teamExcellent organisational, time management and problem-solving skillsComputer literate with experience with Microsoft Office; own computer and mobile phoneFull driving license and own reliable vehicleDesirable Skills Portacath management experienceExperience working with dementia patientsIf you are interested in this role, please apply via the Seek website with a note about your motivation for the role and any other work commitments.
