Job Description Clinical Support Officer - Central South He aha te turanga - About the role: A role where you can maintain your clinical skills while sharing your expertise to boost the knowledge and capability of our operational staff and Hato Hone St John.
We currently have a permanent opportunity for Operational staff to step into the Clinical Support area as a Clinical Support Officer.
This is a full-time position working 42 hours per week, between Monday to Sunday.
Preferred location to be Palmerston North area; however, we will consider applicants from the wider Central South and applicants be willing to travel for work.
As a CSO you will be a high performing EMT or Paramedic and have a passion to educate and develop operational staff and have the clinical leadership to make clinical decisions and provide clinical advice.

To enable clinical excellence by working with Hato Hone St John personnel to develop good clinical practice The delivery of high-quality education, in line with the curriculum defined by, and provided by, Hato Hone St John Developing individual learning plans that provide support to enable Hato Hone St John personnel to meet required competencies To provide constructive, honest, and accurate feedback to Operational members to improve their clinical competence and patient outcomes This is a permanent full-time position Qualifications Ko wai koe - About you: To be successful in this role, you will have: Current ATP at EMT or Paramedic level (not specialist) Strong self-reflective skillset Travel is also part of this role Have excellent attention to detail Be computer and tech savvy Certificate in adult teaching and NZQA 4098 would be an advantage Proven clinical knowledge and strong written skills A passion to mentor, support, teach and educate The ability to work independently with initiative and drive Well-developed communication and people skills A good understanding of the MS Office suite.
Have the ability to complete work autonomously Be reliable and motivated with a positive attitude Have a keen interest to learn and improve your own clinical practice through exposure to a wide range of clinical initiatives.

Entry rate for qualified Paramedics is $84,169 ($38.54 gross hourly rate).
Increasing to $92,887 after 4 years' service.

Clinical Support Officers will receive an allowance in addition to base Paramedic rate.
Penal rates will be paid for unsocial hours (nights and weekends) Our service covers 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
As a Clinical Support Officer your shifts will be 12-hour shifts (days, swings and nights) - in a four on and four off, delivering clinical support and other clinical deliverables such as education.
