Clinical Quality & Risk Manager, Medicine Service at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Counties Manukau, Auckland Counties Manukau District has a shared vision to work in partnership with its communities to improve the health status of all; with particular emphasis on Maaori and Pacific peoples and other communities with health disparities. We are responsible for providing hospital based services collaborating with other districts to promote the integration of health services. With facilities based at Middlemore Hospital, Manukau Health Park and in localities, Counties Manukau District is one of the larger districts with 8,500 employees. The Clinical Quality and Risk Manager will lead and coordinate processes ensuring the effective and timely management of complaints and adverse events and the embedding of learnings. The role will also lead and coordinate governance processes (as required), for audit, certification, controlled documents, risk mitigation and management. This is a full time position working Monday to Friday and based at Middlemore Hospital.
Reporting to the General Manager of Medicine, the role will work closely with the Clinical Director of Medicine and in partnership with Clinical Heads, Service Managers, Nursing, Allied Health, non-clinical staff and external stakeholders including patients, whaanau and other districts.
To be successful in this role, you will:
Have preferably worked in a complex healthcare environment. Be clinically qualified, ideally with experience in certification and accreditation processes. Knowledge and understanding of medico/legal and ethical responsibilities Have proven expertise in leading quality initiatives, process improvement and investigations. Reporting and development of quality standards and key performance indicators.
