An exciting opportunity for an experienced emergency/acute care nurse Be part of a vibrant, friendly team committed to client-centred care An opportunity to help lead best practice in acute/emergency care Nga mohiohio e pa ana ki tenei mahi (About this position) The Clinical Nurse Specialist – Emergency Department (CNS) is a clinical nurse expert working within and across Te Whatu Ora Nelson Marlborough district to promote appropriate self-management for persons presenting to the ED.
The role will be based in the Emergency Department at Nelson Hospital providing clinical expertise and leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and effective services to individual clients and client groups.
The CNS role has a key focus on the teaching of health professionals and patients/whanau through facilitation of both formal and informal learning opportunities.
The CNS constructively role models and mentor's nurses to facilitate upskilling as well as the coordination and delivery of expert acute care to people accessing health services across the acute continuum of care.
The CNS will actively contribute to the development of the specialty service in general and to nursing in particular through quality improvement initiatives.
This role positively affects quality patient outcomes and influences achievement of improved outcomes across multiple settings.
The full-time equivalent salary range for this designated senior nurse position (Grade 2) is $112,660 to $123,955 based on the current NZNO Nursing and Midwifery MECA dependent on skills, experience, and registration in NZ.

If you are a skilled and committed senior registered nurse with expert knowledge and skills and a passion for acute/emergency care - this could be the position for you.
This role requires advanced nursing skill and theoretical knowledge within the emergency/acute care domain of practice, as well as a strong commitment to ongoing education and training.
You will have NZNC registration, a current practising certificate and a full driver's licence.
You will also have: excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
an Expert PDRP at least 4-5 years ED experience.
Advanced resuscitation training.
demonstrated leadership qualities.
a Clinical Masters qualification or working towards.
