Through integration and collaboration, we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whanau-centred care, and excellence.About the RoleWe have a permanent, part-time (0.4 FTE), opportunity available to join the Prevention Directorate as aClinical Lead - Colposcopy. This role is critical in enabling the delivery of the National Public Health Service (NPHS)strategic agenda for Pae Ora(Healthy Futures).The Clinical Lead - Colposcopy will provide expert clinical leadership and direction for a national cervical screening programme within the NPHS, Health NZ and the wider health sector related to their area of expertise. This includes the provision of expert advice on national clinical policies and procedures, national monitoring, and quality assurance and improvement for the screening programme.The Clinical Lead - Colposcopy will work closely and collaboratively with the Clinical Lead Screening, the Clinical Lead - Pathology and the National Cervical Screening Programme Manager to continually improve delivery of a high quality and safe national cervical screening programme.About the Team/Service/ LocationThe National Public Health Service (NPHS) sits within Health NZ and works towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.About youYou are a registered medical practitioner in gynaecology and are readily able to translate your knowledge and expertise into high quality and safe clinical advice for others. You have strong systems thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively drive change and influence across the sector. You will also have proven experience working for and alongside priority populations. This role requires collaboration and strong relationships to work in partnership with the programme's Te Tiriti partners, clinical experts, Pacific health partners, and those delivering cervical screening services.Skills and ExperienceEssential:Medical Practitioner already registered with or eligible to obtain registration with Medical Council of NZVocationally registered in Obstetrics and GynaecologyHold a current annual practicing certificate.A relevant graduate and post-graduate qualification.Knowledge of HPV as primary screeningExperience in population health-based approaches and/or in the delivery of cervical screening related health servicesExcellent relationship manager and influencerDemonstrated experience of contributing to the development of an effective teamAbility to work credibly in Maori and on Maori contextsRecent clinical experience and expertise in colposcopy and in particular, experience related to cervical screeningKnowledge of policy development, analysis, research methodologies and of government structures and processesWorking for Health NZHealth NZ is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of Aotearoa New Zealand.
