MidCentral is seeking experienced Cardiac Physiologists to participate in the development of cardiology services, including the establishment of a local interventional service. This is an exciting opportunity to participate in the expansion of cardiology services at MidCentral and enhance the delivery of cardiac care across the central region.
A dedicated cardiac catheterisation facility is under development as part of a wider project to increase surgical and procedural activity through the redevelopment of the existing hospital facility. The dedicated cath lab will be operational by mid-2023, with an expectation that the hospital will be PCI capable five days a week.
In addition to the development of an interventional service, the cardiology service provides CT Cardiac Angiography, Cardiac MRI, and Sesta Mibi scanning. The service is supported by a strong specialist nursing and allied health workforce, and existing cardiologists specialise in pacemaker and reveal implantation, Sesta MIBI, and cardiac imaging.
The Clinical Cardiac Physiologist role consists of providing services to outpatients and inpatients by assisting in the provision of specialist cardiac investigations, including cardiac angiography, left and right heart studies, pacemaker follow-up and implantation, exercise testing, Holter tape/event monitoring, Sesta Mibi, and echocardiography.
Experience in echocardiography and/or pacemakers/ICD is desirable and would be advantageous. You will have the relevant clinical cardiac physiology work experience and hold the ASCT or CCP and Mtex qualification or equivalent. It is essential that you have an annual practising certificate and registration.
You should also possess proven computer and keyboard skills, and the ability to work as a team member.
MidCentral requires ALL its employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (including the first booster vaccination). We will not accept applications that do not meet this criteria.
MidCentral actively seeks Maori into our workforce to reflect the community we serve.
