Role Overview:
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of various construction projects. This role requires a competent project manager with 3-5 years of experience in the construction industry. You will work closely with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities: Project Planning and Initiation:
Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget.
Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments.
Establish project objectives, deliverables, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Obtain necessary consents and approvals.
Stakeholder Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
Facilitate communication and coordination between clients, contractors, and other project participants.
Manage expectations and ensure stakeholder satisfaction.
Project Execution:
Oversee the day-to-day management of construction projects.
Monitor project progress and performance against the project programme.
Coordinate and supervise the activities of contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Budget and Cost Control:
Develop and manage project budgets.
Monitor and control project costs to ensure adherence to the budget.
Identify and address any financial risks or issues.
Prepare and present financial reports to clients and stakeholders.
Quality Assurance:
Implement and enforce quality control measures.
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work is being completed to the required standards.
Address any defects or issues promptly.
Project Closeout:
Ensure the completion of all project deliverables.
Conduct final inspections and obtain necessary certifications.
Prepare project closeout documentation and reports.
Facilitate handover to clients and ensure a smooth transition to operational status.
Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying Engineering, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in construction project management.
Proven track record of successfully managing commercial, residential, and industrial projects.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations in New Zealand.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
