Claims Co-ordinator role Waitangi Tribunal Unit
12 Month Fixed Term
The Waitangi Tribunal is a permanent commission of inquiry charged with making recommendations on claims brought by Maori relating to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. It holds a unique place in the New Zealand constitutional framework. We are looking for a talented and hard-working person to join the Waitangi Tribunal Unit as a Claims Coordinator.
Te Haeata / The Opportunity The Claims Coordinator supports the Waitangi Tribunal by performing event management and document management services that are essential to the effective operation of the organisation. These functions include:
Facilitating claimant participation in Waitangi Tribunal inquiries
Organising official events
Providing administrative support to Waitangi Tribunal members and the judiciary
O pukenga / Skills and Experience No candidate will meet every single desired qualification. If your experience looks a little different from what we have outlined and believe you can bring value to the role, we'd love to hear from you! To be successful in the role you will have:
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Attention to detail in managing large document banks and records
Experience in planning large events in set timeframes
Flexibility and ability to work in a dynamic environment
Full clean motor vehicle driver's license (essential)
Experience working with judiciary and a commitment to developing your knowledge in Te Reo and Tikanga Maori will be an advantage.

Utu a-tau / Salary The appointing salary for this role will be between $65,066 and $90,008 based on skills and experience.
