Civil and Land Construction is looking for an Civil Estimator/Project manager to work with our established team in Canterbury.
The role will see you responsible for pricing projects, tracking progress against the quoted price, variations and forecasting future workload. You will provide accurate project descriptions with clear definitions in scope, methodology and technical expertise to the operations team to enable them to complete the tasks productively and to a high standard. You will need to price and win sufficient jobs to ensure team productivity is met while delivering margin objectives whilst ensure client service expectations are being managed 100% of the time.
The ideal candidate will have a background in the civil construction industry and estimating civil and drainage work and able to prove the following skills:
Civil Estimator / Project manager Responsibilities:
A high degree of computer literacy
Effective time management
Effective Communication skills including negotiation and conflict resolution
Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally
Attention to detail in pricing
Financial management of projects
Obtaining quotes & placing orders
Co-ordination of multiple tenders across a diverse range of civil projects
Pricing from first principles for a wide range of projects which include: Roading, Stormwater, Utilities, Structures, Subdivisions & Earthworks
Back costing
Display agility, accuracy & resilience under pressure
A collaborative and engaging manner– a team player!
Civil Estimator/project manager Requirements:
Experience in Roading, Stormwater, Utilities, Structures, Subdivisions & Earthworks.
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management or similar
Minimum of 3+ years experience in civil construction
Sound knowledge of construction methods, materials and build codes
Experience preparing tenders
First principles estimating practices
Strong work ethic and positive attitude
Right to work in NZ
