One of the leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancies in NZ is excited to be recruiting for a Civil Engineer to join their Queenstown office.

A market leader in Land Development nationwide, with a strong voice at Council level, this employee-owned consultancy has a wonderful reputation for delivering high-quality large scale master planned subdivisions for New Zealand's largest and most respected property and land developers. They have 50+ years of rich experience at the forefront of the industry in both the public and private sector and have an unrivalled commitment to the development and growth of their staff and their clients.

In the last 10 years, they've doubled in size and their relationships with clients have deepened. Despite this growth, they haven't forgotten their roots and still remain a people-centric business with a social/family-like culture. Their vision is to double in size over the next 10 years. In line with strong growth over the last 12 months and additions to their service offering, they've created a Civil Engineering position in Queenstown.

You will have a strong background in hydrology, design, and working knowledge of site supervision of land development and civil infrastructure projects. Local Queenstown experience would be seriously advantageous.

The role:

This role offers a unique opportunity to help expand this consultancy's services in Queenstown, Otago, and Southland, while also playing a key role in the growth of their Canterbury operations.

Reporting to the South Island Business Regional Manager, this Queenstown-based position is ideal for someone who can work independently yet collaborate closely with our team of engineers and surveyors.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, both in writing and verbally, and a proactive team player.

Responsibilities include managing a variety of public and private sector projects, along with fostering strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including staff, clients, contractors, specialists, and council representatives.

Requirements

You will have a suitable qualification in engineering
5+ years' experience, ideally in Christchurch or Queenstown
Land development experience.
Design experience, preferably with 12D.
Stormwater-focused engineering experience and experience with HEC-HMS and/or HEC-RAS is highly advantageous
Practical 'on-site' experience
Have working experience with local Council standards and codes of practice.
You will have solid independent technical report writing skills
