Christmas Elves - Gift Wrappers

Details of the offer

Christmas shopping can be stressful, but your customer service and wrapping skills can make a real difference to someone's day!
This role involves wrapping Christmas gifts at a booth in one of two shopping centres - Centre Place or Te Awa at The Base, raising funds for Volunteering Waikato - Te Ohu Tuuao o Waikato. People who have purchased gifts from these centres can come to our booths and get their presents wrapped for a koha. This is a fabulous and unique role that helps put a smile on the faces of us and our communities over the festive season!
You will get to be part of a fun team, meet other volunteers, be part of the Christmas buzz, learn the art of gift wrapping, all while promoting volunteering in our community.
It is preferable if you can be available for at least three shifts between December 9th - 24th, but this is negotiable, and you can do more if you want to!
Requirements:

We can provide gift wrapping training, but it is really helpful if you are already able to wrap in a neat and tidy way.
You'll be using a mobile EFTPOS machine - don't worry, it's easy and training will be provided.
You need to work independently, work quickly when things get busy, and have great customer service skills.
You need good conversational English so you can have casual conversations with anyone who may come to you.
You'll need to be able to stand for four hours.
There is a training video that will be sent to you when you pick your shifts, but we also offer in-person training at our office in the Hamilton CBD for anyone who has not done this project before or anyone who would like a refresher, during the first week of December.
Time commitment:
Shifts are generally four hours long, with a few variations. Elves can choose shifts to suit, depending on availability. Shifts are available daytime, evening, and weekend.
Getting started:
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
