About the Role This is a pivotal executive leadership role reporting directly to the CEO. As the Chief Technology & Innovation Officer (CTIO), you will lead a technology team of 18, including several direct reports, to shape and execute the company's technology and innovation strategy. Your role will be to align technological initiatives with the organisation's commercial objectives, ensuring products meet the evolving demands of their industry. Collaborating with the CEO and executive team to define the company's technology vision and roadmap, you will need to integrate emerging technologies such as AI and machine learning into the product suite, ensuring operational excellence in areas such as infrastructure, security, and data management. You will also oversee product development, IT operations, and the strategic management of the technology budget to maximise ROI. Key Responsibilities Lead the development of a forward-thinking technology and innovation strategy that aligns with business goals. Drive the adoption of emerging technologies to enhance product offerings. Ensure the organisation's technology infrastructure and data management systems operate efficiently and securely. Foster a collaborative culture, guiding cross-functional teams from concept to product delivery. Manage technology budgets and resources effectively to ensure alignment with strategic priorities. Role Requirements & Competencies This role requires you to be based in Wellington, at the company's Head Office along with other leaders including the CEO. You'll work closely with a distributed team, both across New Zealand and internationally. To be successful in this role, you will need: 10+ years of proven experience in technology leadership roles, particularly within fast-paced SaaS environments. A strong track record of developing technology-powered product solutions that drive business growth. The ability to lead cross-functional teams from concept to delivery. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels. Strong business acumen with the ability to balance technological innovation with commercial objectives. Familiarity with AI, machine learning, and other emerging technologies. Proven experience managing technology budgets and resources to maximise efficiency. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required; a post-graduate degree such as an MBA is highly preferred. Why Join?
