TuaropakiTrust (www.tuaropaki.com) is an Ahu Whenua Trust under the auspices ofTeTure Whenua Maori. There are more than 2,700 Owners, a mix of individuals, Whanau Trusts and Kaitiaki Trusts, all descended from the original Owners. The Trust is a kaitiaki for ancestral taonga and manages complex business interests in the food and energy sectors, with assets valued at approximately $1 billion.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the COO is a new role established as part of a recent organisational change. The COO is responsible for ensuring all Tuaropaki-controlled assets are delivering value to shareholder expectations. Specific responsibilities include:
Driving excellence across all station, dairy and sustainability operations.
Leading development and compliance in health and safety and environmental sustainability.
Maintaining rigorous management routines, cost and risk controls
Supporting the Trust and ELT in its role as Tuaropaki Power Company's manager
Provide leadership and mentoring to reports, fostering a collaborative, positive and innovative work environment
To be successful in this role, you will also have:
Prior expertise at executive level in large agribusiness or other relevant industry.
Proven leadership in managing large agribusiness teams, optimizing supply chains, and driving sustainable farming innovations
An appropriate business, technical or professional university qualification
Demonstrated ability to aggregate and synthesise complex information into compelling documents in a timely manner to provide advice at governance level
Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build and leverage relationships and partner with colleagues and others across the industry to achieve shared outcomes
A robust understanding of capital productivity principles and how to influence capital productivity through contract, relationship and operations management
