BEDC is one of those amazing NZ technology companies that you have never heard of. Earlier this year we hit a significant revenue milestone, we will hire our 400th team member in October, we have customers in NZ, Australia, Canada, the US, and we are entering the European market next month.And the rocket ride is just beginning - we have ambitious growth plans and expect to scale from 400 to beyond 1,000 employees in the next 24 - 36 months. Our current markets have massive opportunities, and we will also enter adjacent verticals and continue to expand to new geographies.As we embark on this ambitious growth phase we seek a dynamic and experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) with significant operational experience, who understands service delivery at scale and can drive process improvement and ensure operational efficiency.You must be comfortable travelling to work directly with our teams in the Philippines, Australia and the US and, of course, spending time with our customers to ensure we continue to delight and exceed their expectations.Job Summary:The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will play a pivotal role in the company's expansion efforts. This role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring process improvements, and driving efficiency gains across the organisation.The COO will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to implement strategic initiatives that support our growth objectives and maintain our standards of excellence as we continue to scale.Key Responsibilities:Operational Leadership: Oversee daily operations of the company and ensure they align with our business goals and objectives.Implement and manage operational procedures and systems to improve efficiency and productivity.Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and develop strategies to enhance operational performance.Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline workflows and eliminate inefficiencies.Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies to achieve operational excellence.Efficiency Gains: Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends and areas for improvement.Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement throughout the organization.Growth Management: Develop and implement scalable processes to support the company's growth from 400 to 1,000 employees and beyond.Ensure that operational capacity meets the demands of business expansion.Manage the integration of new technologies and systems to support growth objectives.Team Management: Ensure effective communication and collaboration across all departments.Promote professional development and training to enhance team skills and capabilities.Financial Planning, Reporting and Analysis: Assist with developing and implementing the company's financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning to ensure the company's financial health and alignment with its overall business strategy.Analyze financial performance, track key metrics, and provide insights to help the executive team and board of directors make informed decisions.Risk Management: Identify potential financial and business risks, developing strategies to mitigate them, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the CEO and senior leadership to develop and execute strategic plans.Participate in long-term planning and contribute to the overall strategic direction of the company.Ensure operational alignment with the company's mission, vision, and values.Qualifications:Relevant tertiary qualification preferred.Proven experience as a COO or in a similar senior operational leadership role in a fast-growing technology-focused service delivery company.Strong understanding of process improvement methodologies, both formal (i.e., Lean, Six Sigma) and informal.Demonstrated success in managing operations for a growing company.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Ability to develop and implement strategic plans.Experience with operational risk management and regulatory compliance.Proficiency in relevant software and technology platforms.This recruitment is being handled by our recruitment partner Bob Walker at JOYN.
