The Opportunity – Chief Investment Officer (CIO)
The role of CIO has been established to enhance investment performance and foster innovation within investment and wealth portfolios. Leading a team of investment professionals, you will innovate and execute market leading investment strategies and products, whilst working effectively with a diverse internal and external stakeholder group.
Your key responsibilities include:
Drive leading investment performance outcomes across all managed funds.
Develop and maintain a highly present external profile.
Collaborate with partners including Product, Distribution and BlackRock, to develop and implement investment strategies for ASB funds.
Monitor investment performance and strategies relative to peers.
Lead investment strategy and performance discussions with the ASB Investment Committee.
Manage the effective delivery of investment administration and custody services.
Manage the appointment and supplier management processes for all investment managers.
Lead interactions with and support Wealth and KiwiSaver distribution teams across ASB on market action and insights, portfolio changes, and investment performance.
Support effective customer and corporate communications, including investment market and performance insights and thought leadership.
Collaborate with the Portfolio Manager and underlying investment managers.
Skill set and experience required to be successful
Applications are welcomed from seasoned investment professionals with public markets portfolio management experience. Significant experience in manager due diligence, selection and monitoring is essential to your success, along with fundamental experience in investment strategy, portfolio construction, and best practice risk management. Your track record will be evident; quantifiable experience in building high performing investment portfolios that deliver market-leading risk-adjusted returns over a long-term investment horizon.
You will display conviction in your ideas, with the communication skills to engage in constructive debate and discussion with internal and external stakeholders. Your leadership credentials will be evident; decisive, inclusive, and someone who operates with conviction and purpose.
