This CFO role is a hands-on commercial leadership opportunity based in Hawkes Bay. Tupore Infrastructure Limited, formerly Russell Roads, is a well-established full-service civil infrastructure supply and construction business with a proud history operating across Hawkes Bay and the Central North Island for over 50 years. They have a broad range of sites, assets and operations here and outside of the region. Their business is underpinned by genuine commitment to their Kaupapa of making lives and communities better and reflects in extensive infrastructure contracts with the likes of local and central government.
Tupore is a busy operating environment. The owners have real growth aspirations for further expansion, which will see the current team of 100 plus employees poised to grow in line with the ongoing call for infrastructure build across our regions.
You'll be the commercial right hand to the CEO, providing guidance for the shareholders and leading a small finance team. Systems review and refinement is a big part of this role – we want someone keen to get hands-on in their system optimisation. Responsibilities will have a broad focus, at both a strategic and functional level. Your wingspan will spread across ensuring integrity of their financial reporting, compliance, budgeting and forecasting, cashflow management, risk, and treasury functions as well as management and further development of people and finance systems. You will be someone who likes sitting close to the numbers and be prepared to roll up your sleeves at the transactional level when your team needs support.
You will need to be an experienced finance leader who is just as keen to get your boots on and get across the business as you are to guide strategy. You must be comfortable working in a tender-based market. You will be navigating, and bringing further rigour and challenge to the company's commercial decisions, cashflow and contract management in a business model that relies on close relationships with key external parties.
We are open-minded in terms of sector and industry experience. An understanding of infrastructure and construction markets would be an asset, but either way you will be someone who enjoys driving commercial performance and assuring accountability. Commercial awareness, and the ability to add value in modelling, forecasting and in driving finance and business efficiencies will be what sets you apart as a highly regarded CFO. Ideally, you will need to be CA or CPA qualified.
It will be important that you relate well to the drivers of private enterprise but can operate in a business that operates in and around significant community and infrastructure partnerships. In return, you will be well rewarded with competitive remuneration. If you have the required finance leadership and commercial strategic capacity to perform here, then please apply through the seek portal or telephone Rachel Cornwall at Populous People for a confidential discussion, telephone 0272 565 620 .
