CRL is a 3.45km twin tunnel underground rail link up to 42 metres below the city centre, transforming the downtown Britomart Transport Centre into a two-way through-station that better connects the Auckland rail networks. The creation of this $5.4 billion infrastructure asset has brought together best of breed global and local contractors, consultancies and advisors with local expertise and labour to deliver an asset which will be transformative for Auckland. City Rail Link Limited (CRL Ltd) is a commercial entity owned and funded by the New Zealand Crown and Auckland Council, and tasked with the delivery of the CRL. The Company has an experienced Board with large scale local and international experience. Leading CRL Ltd's finances will genuinely be a once in a lifetime opportunity to be a key participant in a unique infrastructure project of this scale and complexity.As a result of a recent promotion, CRL Ltd are seeking a new Chief Financial Officer to support the Chief Executive and executive team in the critical final stages of this significant infrastructure project. The appointee will be a senior leader at CRL Ltd over the next 15 to 18+ months as the project reaches its planned practical completion in late 2025, and early 2026 as the organisation demobilises. The CFO will be a key member of the executive team and accountable for leading and managing the financial and accounting functions and associated external and internal audit, insurance, information technology, enterprise risk and control assurance activities for CRLL. The appointee will engage with a myriad of stakeholders (CRL Ltd's sponsors – Ministry of Transport, NZ Treasury and Auckland Council, CRL Ltd Board, Link Alliance partners, Auckland Transport, KiwiRail, staff, the Auckland community, et al), bringing the parties together and working through issues as they arise.Accordingly, we are seeking expressions of interest from individuals who have:experience operating as a CFO, Divisional CFO or possibly functional finance role reporting to a CFO of a large-scale complex project or commercial entityproven experience gained within large asset based and capital programmes' environmentsexcellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills. The appointee needs to have the gravitas and impact to build credibility and earn the respect of a wide group of stakeholders both in the public and private sectorshigh levels of commercial agility and experience with commercial contracts and extracting maximum value in order to ensure the project meets its financial and risk goalsstrong leadership skills to galvanise a finance team to deliver high levels of performanceexperience in the delivery of accurate and reliable external and internal financial and statutory reporting across multiple stakeholder groupsdemonstrated ability to work across functional boundaries in a collaborative manner to get things done in the interest of achieving the company's objectives and best for project outcomes resilience and pragmatic, with an ability to prioritise competing demandsthe highest integrity and be a strong fit / champion of CRL Ltd's values and culture empathy and presence to effectively engage with the local community impacted by the construction phase of the project.
