The Ottoman prides itself to be the tastiest Turkish restaurant in Rangiora with a relaxed ambience and a great culinary experience in Mediterranean and Turkish cuisine. Our restaurant is open 7 days a week from 10.30 am to 9 pm. We have a capacity of around 60 seating patrons, takeaways and deliveries on top of that.
We are looking to employ a chef to run our busy kitchen who has experience in Turkish cuisine.
Your Responsibilities will be:

Assume overall responsibility for kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency
Prepare and cook menu dishes using safe techniques, prepare marinades for meat dishes
Propose seasonal dishes aligned with Turkish cuisine
Estimate food and labour costs, and manage food supplies
Maintain quality standards throughout food preparation and presentation
Collaborate with the restaurant manager, kitchen, and waiting staff on food-related matters
Enforce hygiene regulations
Recruit and train kitchen staff

 
You would have:
-        At least 3 year or more of work experience in Turkish cuisine
-        Punctual, organised & capable of multi-tasking with attention to detail.
-        Experience with health & safety laws and keeping records for quality control.
-        Able to work holidays, evenings and weekends. You will be rostered.
-        New Zealand resident visa or citizenship
What we are offering
-        Full time permanent employment
-        Minimum of 35 hours/week guaranteed
-        Pay rate/h: $27-$30 depending on experience
