We have an opportunity for a Chef de Partie to join our production team based in our production kitchen in Mt Eden.Reporting to the Head Chef - Production, this role is responsible for the successful running of our small scale production kitchen where you will assist delivering our food production requirements for our supermarket/FMCG clients. Sharing the food preparation and cooking on the floor, this role also requires you to cover the Head Chef providing support for the team during the course of the daily operations.At present our production kitchen operates 6 days/week however is it anticipated that this role will cover 5 days/week. The minimum hours of work is 60hrs/fortnight.What we are looking forA self-starter, you will be passionate about delivering on our client expectations and stringent product specifications.Strong kitchen management experience is desirable, delivering production volumes to meet the client requirements and product specifications.Most of the work undertaken follows a set weekly routine production schedule. We encourage organisational and individual collaboration with proven ability to work to maintain the current production levels while developing unique innovative ideas and products.Main responsibilitiesEnsure food preparation work is in line with production schedule, generally the schedule follows the same workflow weeklySupport the Head Chef in the coordination of the kitchen team as per the production cook schedule and any rostering requirementsMinimise wastage where possibleUndertake stock control checks as necessary to monitor levels of usageSupport the Head Chef in recipe and product developmentAssist in co-ordinating and organising the efficient day to day running of the kitchenAssist in the co-ordination of the logistics of equipment, supplies, production and kitchen teamUnderstand and uphold food safety, HACCP and quality control standards for all outgoing meals and incoming produceSome of the key skills and attributes you will need:3 years' experience in food production/manufacturing or equivalentProven team player who displays adaptabilityUnderstanding of various food cultures and requirementsReliable and hardworkingA genuine passion for your professionStrong understanding and application of food hygiene practices/HACCP - with valid food hygiene certificateStrong commitment to team environmentAdaptable and able to multitask in an efficient mannerAbility to work in pressure situations, with flexibility around shifting priorities throughout the dayHold a full clean NZ drivers' licenceWhat's in it for you?Great central location, close to all public transport networksAbove market remunerationOngoing training in food safety and productionKeen?
