About the roleWe have 2 opportunities to join our fabulous team at Soho Cafe!Pastry Chef/BakerBoth roles are full-time.As the Chef De Partie, you will play a key part in the preparation and presentation of our exquisite menu, bringing creativity and flair to assist us in developing new and exciting brunch options.As the Pastry Chef/Baker, you will play a critical role in the preparation of all our baked goods, cakes, slices, and sandwiches for our extensive cabinet selection!What you'll be doingAssisting the Head Chef in the daily operation of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.Specializing in the creation and production of a wide variety of menu and cabinet food.Maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.Collaborating with the kitchen team to execute our seasonal menu with precision and flair.Continually seeking ways to innovate and enhance our culinary offerings.Participating in menu planning and development.What we're looking forA minimum of 2 years' experience as a Chef de Partie or Pastry Chef/Baker in a high-quality restaurant, cafe, hotel, or catering environment.Level 4/5 NZ cookery qualification or similar formal culinary training.Exceptional baking and pastry skills, with the ability to produce a diverse range of sweet treats.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to food presentation.Excellent time management and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.A creative flair and passion for using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients.What we offerAt Soho Cafe, we pride ourselves on fostering a collaborative, supportive, and fun work environment.
