CNM roles are essential in creating partnerships with Maori across all levels including tangata whaiora, whanau, Maori staff and the Kaitakawaenga team, and supporting our non- Maori staff to work together in reducing inequity. The CNM position is a senior nursing role providing management and leadership within a multidisciplinary team. Mental health and Addictions Service in the Waikato are about to embark on a transformation change to be a Maori led service. You will need to be able to embrace these changes and to support the implementation of a Maori led service within your team and the wider service.The role requires creativity, reliability and exceptional organisational skills. Location of the position will be dependent upon skills, experience and specific interest. Key responsibilities of the role: * Lead and manage people, systems, processes and resources in a defined care area. * Participate in service development planning and improvements. * Manage ward quality and risk programmes. * Establish and sustain a positive culture and a healthy and safe work environment. * Support the pursuit of Maori health gains as well as achieving equitable health outcomes for Maori. You must: * be a Registered Nurse with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and have scope to work in mental health * have demonstrated significant clinical experience * have a passion for making a difference to the lives of our tangata whaiora, and whanau * support the expression of hauora Maori models of care and matauranga Maori. * support Maori oversight and ownership of decision-making processes necessary to achieve Maori health equity. * be willing to lead change to truly make a difference * display initiative and resourcefulness that will allow you to navigate the variety of challenges you could face.
