Through integration and collaboration, we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whanau-centred care, and excellence.About the RoleThe Charge Nurse Manager is responsible for the management of the Emergency Psychiatric Service, Community Programmes, Consultation Psychiatry Liaison Service, Combined Response Team, Psychiatric Records and Director of Area Mental Health Service (DAMHS). This includes clinical leadership and co-ordination, operational functions, quality and financial performance, human resource management, quality and risk management, and quality, clinical pathway development and other service delivery improvements within the ward/unit/service.Working in partnership with clinical and other staff, the Charge Nurse Manager will contribute to strategic and operational management in a way that is consistent with the organisation's vision and values.About the Team/Service/LocationEmergency Psychiatric Service provides around the clock urgent assessments and interventions for consumers of all ages. Community Programmes is a mental health service based at Dunedin Hospital providing recovery focused group programmes for adults with a wide range of moderate to severe mental health issues, living within the community.Te Whatu Ora - Southern has the largest geographical coverage of all the New Zealand regions, providing services to 350,000 people in diverse communities. We take pride in all the services we provide, and our aim is to improve, promote and protect the health of our region.About youOur ideal candidate will have:A current RN APCStrong clinical leadership and management skills and experienceProven experience working within the Mental Health sectorPost graduate diploma in a relevant fieldAdvanced communication techniques including conflict resolution, diffusion and mediation skillsStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to be flexible and innovativeA clear understanding of the principles underpinning mental health and addiction assessment and treatmentCompetency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growthExperience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Salary RangeThis role belongs to the expired Te Whatu Ora/NZNO Collective Agreement and falls between Grade 4 Step 1 ($126,124) p.a. pro-rata and Step 3 ($138,057) p.a. pro-rata of the Senior Designated Nurse Salary Scale.How to ApplyTo view the position description and/or apply for the role please click "apply now."
