Cellar Door Manager – Decibel Wines, HastingsDriven to produce fine but fun wines from sustainable sites, Decibel is the passion project of a former rock band manager, Daniel Brennan. A counter-culture winery, not content with the status quo, Decibel has cemented an international fan base that started in Hawkes Bay and now stretches across state lines.Decibel Central, located in the heart of Hastings, is where we welcome locals and visitors alike to experience a bit of the Decibel Magic. We are on the lookout for a customer service superstar with a love of wine to manage the day-to-day operation of Decibel Central. You'll be pouring wine, sharing stories, and keeping the good vibes flowing.The Job:Minimum hours are Wednesday - Saturday 11am - 5pm. There is flexibility to grow these hours or reduce over winter but must be available to work Saturdays year round.The role is predominantly sole charge, though support is only a phone call, slack message, or email away!Leading wine tastings with visitors from all over the world. These may include walk ins or groups with reservations.Develop and maintain relationships with our locals and regulars.Encouraging wine sales and promoting our wine clubs and newsletter database.Pack and send online orders.Ensure the space is tidy and well-stocked.Assist with coordination of onsite events as needed.Opening and closing of the store.Assist in monthly stock takes.Create and maintain an attractively merchandised and presented store.Development of systems and processes to enable the streamlined running of Decibel Central.Duty Managers qualification is an advantage, however Decibel can support the right person through this process.Available to work weekends, holidays and some evenings for events (infrequent).A solid knowledge of and appreciation for wine; cellar door experience a bonus.Passion for Customer Service, a people person with a knack for making guests feel at home.A positive, can-do attitude and a team player mindset.A reasonable level of computer literacy; you will work with an iMac and iPhone on-site and will use Outlook, Slack, and our POS system daily.Sales oriented.Efficient and level headed under pressure.Private transport to get to work and move wine from our nearby warehouse.Comfortable working with remote and travelling team members, at times you may be the only team member in Hawke's Bay.What Decibel Can Offer:A competitive hourly rate in line with experienceWine allocation and discountsThe opportunity to make your mark on our growing businessFlexibility to expand or streamline the roleImmersion into the Hawke's Bay wine sceneA supportive, inclusive, and family-friendly environment
