Cellar Door Host

The Cellar Door Host will primarily assist the Cellar Door Manager with the day-to-day running of the Cellar Door and ensure all those who visit our winery have a great experience. A key focus of this role is driving sales opportunities and building our new wine club database. This role will be 30 hours minimum per week starting in September or early October through April 2025.
Tasks & Duties Conducts wine tastings in the cellar doorIs a brand ambassador to all customers for BWG's wines Actively promotes the new Wine Club to every wine tasterConverts tasters to become wine club subscribers When not hosting tastings, give table service to customers including taking orders, running food, recommending wines, clearing away & taking customers paymentsProvide friendly and courteous service to guests, at all timesSupport the Managers with the everyday running of the Cellar DoorAble to assist with food prep & running service Help maintain a hygienic front of house and back of house, daily cleaning dutiesBe forward thinking and able to offer assistance and support when requiredHelp create a positive & comfortable environment for our customers Personal Requirements Natural leaderMinimum two years experience in a retail or hospitality environmentEffective sales personA good knowledge of winesProficient in the use of POS Excellent organisational skills and attention to detailProblem solving skills and diplomacyMust be available to work weekends, weekdays & Public HolidaysValid Manager's Certificate is preferredMust have a valid work visa or NZ residency or citizenship
