About the role
Our Security team works on a rotating shift basis, covering 24/7. The purpose of the casual team member is to cover absences such as sick leave and annual leave. Our casual staff are available on a 'when and if required' basis, so this role will suit an individual who has the flexibility required to work at any time, on any given day.
About you
The Casual Security Officer will provide frontline protection at our entrance and be responsible for providing efficient day-to-day security service for the port complex, to include staff, contractors, ships' crews, and visitors. Security Officers provide and enforce security initiatives relating to maritime security, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
Previous experience in Security and/or Surveillance, working with CCTV footage
Experience in Mobile Patrols
Proven track record working on a team
Excellent communication skills
Strong sense of initiative, with the ability to prioritise workflows
Full, Clean, Class 1 New Zealand Driver's Licence
The ability to work varied shifts covering a 24/7 roster
Good computer literacy skills (basic standard)
Other strongly desirable skills:
A good sense of humour and the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues
The willingness to constantly improve our service to the customers, LPC Staff, the visitors, and the community
Experience in Marine and Restricted Radio Communication
