The Lyttelton Port Company's Marine Services Team is looking for a Casual Lines Supervisor to assist the safe and secure mooring of ships in the port.

About the role:
We have an opportunity to join our Marine Team on a casual basis. To be considered you must have the flexibility to work on an as and when required 'on-call' basis within 24 hour / 7 days a week shift structure.
We are specifically seeking someone who is available on a casual basis to support our team of Lines Supervisors. Full training will be provided if you are not already trained as a Lines Supervisor.
In support of our Lines Supervisors Team, your duties will include overseeing and assisting in the safe and secure mooring of ships, and a variety of other marine related duties including the delivery of water, quarantine signage and other arrival requirements to ships.

Deliver effective communication and leadership to our line's teams.
Possess excellent communication skills.
Maintain a good level of physical fitness, ability to lift and move heavy items, move around confined spaces.
The ability to handle variable weather conditions, as well as the ability to interpret distances.
Ideally have ship mooring supervision or lines handling experience and have prior experience in supervising lines activities.
Hold a Class 1 full drivers' licence and able to drive a manual vehicle.
A current VHF operators' certificate is preferred.
Pre-employment Tests
LPC require all successful candidates to pass a Pre-employment Medical which includes a Drug and Alcohol Test, Pre-Employment Ministry of Justice Check, a TORO check and a Pre-employment ACC Check.
Eligibility
Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand is a requirement.
