Casual Hostel Support Worker

The Salvation Army – Addington, South Island The Addington Hostel has been providing Emergency housing for men for 127 years.
This is an 88 bed hostel based in Addington, Christchurch which supports those needing short term housing while a more permanent option is found.
What will your responsibilities be Provide onsite staff support for medication, food services, cleaning, public inquiries, and the general wellbeing of the men who live here.
Our ideal candidate will: Have your Level 4 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or approved equivalent).
If you have completed your Level 3 Certificate and are close to finishing your Level 4 Certificate, we will also consider your application for the Casual Support Worker role.
Have at least one year of experience in a similar setting such as Mental Health, AOD, Housing, Residential Care, or Corrections.
Be able to work in a men-only hostel setting, but we do have a majority female staff team.
Must be able to work both weekends and/or night shifts as this is when the majority of Casual shifts happen.

This role is casual, and hours worked are as needed across our 24/7 day roster.
The hourly rate for this role will be between $26.94 and $29.10 depending upon your qualifications.
