Through integration and collaboration, we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whanau-centred care, and excellence.About the role:Located in a rural setting, you will work in a close knit, friendly team, whilst providing safe, high-quality care for women and their whanau in planning to birth at our primary birthing unit, or at homeProvide antenatal and postnatal care to women who have given birth at Queen Mary Hospital in Dunedin, either by choice or by necessityCollaborate with two other pairs in a flexible fortnightly rotating rosterCoordinate resources to meet identified needs, encompassing staff and equipmentProvide clinical and professional leadershipEnsure discharge planning/handover of care to a well child provider processes are robust and timelyAccess to a vehicle and be provided with all equipment necessary to enable optimal care whilst on-callAbout usOur fabulous Waitaki district is known for its affordable living, spectacular landscapes, braided rivers, geological marvels, beautiful lakes, long beaches, steampunk sculptures, and of course the penguins!Boutique breweries, award-winning eateries, camping, boating, fishing, surfing, skiing, hiking, and a world-class cycle trail - you name it, there's something for everyone!See link to short video hereExplore Oamaru and the Waitaki District in New ZealandAbout you:It is essential that you are a NZ Registered Midwife and hold a current APCHave a thorough understanding of case loading care in the Midwifery Council of NZ's Whanuitanga o Te Mahi - Scope of PracticeBe competent in the use of the Guidelines for Consultation with Obstetric and Related Services (Referral Guidelines)Hold a current Full driver's licenceCompetency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growthExperience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settingsWorking for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
