New Zealand Aged Care Services Ltd is an Aged Care Group provider with over 7 different sites in NZ, that provides care services to Rest Homes, Dementia and Hospital Level residents. We are currently looking for staff at our beautiful Mosgiel facility, Mossbrae Lifecare Limited. NZACS puts quality aged care at the heart of its operation. We look to providing care that our most vulnerable community can trust and enjoy during their time with us. After a decade of serving our most vulnerable adults, we need someone to help us continue the care we love to provide.
Position: Full Time (35-40 Hours per week)
As a Level 4 Caregiver, you'll provide care and support duties according to standard policies and procedures for our home. Maintain an efficient and timely service for the residents of our facility. Your goal will be to maintain all required support tasks assigned to you and provide customer service to our residents that is warm and approachable. Your success will expand NZACS Ltd.'s reach - helping countless residents and their loved ones feel cared for and nurtured during what can sometimes be a difficult time.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this role, here are the skills we are looking for:
Compassion: Showing compassion means being able to tune in to other people's distress and feeling a desire to alleviate it. Most residents are dealing with challenges of one type or another, significantly mental and/or physical ailments, limited communication abilities and more. Our residents will have their moments, so we need Caregivers that will have the patience to respond with kindness.
Communication: Caregivers must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. As part of the team, you will be communicating on our behalf, and we need Caregivers that are able to accurately communicate as well and listen to our Residents' needs and communicate effectively to relevant team members.
Interpersonal Skills: Working as a Caregiver is a very social job, and you'll be interacting with people all day. Having a high level of social skills will go a long way towards helping you establish rapport, build trust, and otherwise nurture a strong open relationship with our residents.
As a Level 4 Caregiver for NZACS, along your journey in adding value to our homes, you'll be responsible for:
Respecting residents' privacy and confidentiality
Providing assistance with ADL - toileting, showers, dressing, meals, tidy up the residents' rooms
Assisting residents get ready for activities and family visits
Working closely with other Caregivers and RNs and reporting concerns regarding changes in residents' conditions
Ensuring the health and safety of your residents and staff
Maintaining a positive attitude and good work practice, able to work independently and as part of the team
Attending training to upskill and continue to provide the best care possible
Qualified Level 4 Caregiver

Good written and verbal communication skills
