You will join a team dedicated to the care and protection of rangatahi temporarily placed in our care whare, till such a time that they can return to whanau or another approved long-term carer. We assist them in their everyday life with a strength-based approach and teach life skills to develop their independence. You must be able to play and laugh with others and at yourself.

The caregiver is responsible for:
Providing emotional and practical support for rangatahi who have experienced trauma and are some of Aotearoa's most vulnerable youth.
Logistics to and from appointments and planned activities.
Monitoring and enforcing daily routines.
Developing your skill set/attending training.
Reporting on daily activities and behavioural observations.

Your expertise in providing care and life skills is a given, and you will be excited to engage and learn alongside Ngati Toa. To proceed:
You will need to have a clean, NZ full license.
Pass police vetting.
Experience with rangatahi is an advantage.
You will be passionate about helping rangatahi and delivering care with empathy, patience and consistency.
