Creative Abilities & Associates Limited

Details of the offer

We require additional employees to support our current team of approximately 110 Care and Support Workers.
We are looking for individuals that love being around people, are energetic and have great initiative.  However, you will also know when standard policy and procedures must be followed.
Our ideal candidate will have a big heart and experience in the wider disability or care sectors.  A full and current drivers license is desireed.
As a Care Coach you will support those living with physical and/or intellectual disabilities to prepare and eat meals, plan their day and provide support with their weekly shopping. Be comfortable, capable and respectful when providing personal cares to people who have Very High Needs.  You will accompany them on outings to the movies, the beach, the gym or to visit family or friends.
You will ultimately support them to live life, their way.
You need to be flexible and reliable and you need to be able to work rotating/various shifts. You will be able and willing to work awake night shifts, sleepover shifts, week days or weekend.
"Care. With Heart. It's more than a mantra. It is simply how we do things around here. It is kind, it is compassionate, it is empathetic. It is values-led and it is professional. It's our unifying promise across all services."
What does achieving in this role look like? Easy! It's when our Community Members:

Are empowered and supported to gain control over the things that are important to them and are supported in making their own decisions

Know, their aspirations, needs and wants (including personal cares and household management) are important and their care plans will be implemented and brought to life in a meaningful, professional and positive way

Receive Care (service delivery) which is skilled, creative, flexible, responsive and respectful to the needs and cultural values of the individual and in line with our organisation values and expectations

Are provided with care that encourages and facilitates their inclusion in their family / whanau and wider community.

Are empowered, encouraged, and supported to liaise with community groups. Engagement, connection, and personal development opportunities are supported

Are always assisted to work through and solve social, emotional and financial problems or issues and have their questions answered

Know that all identified risks and risk management strategies and plans are understood, and that these are adhered to, keeping them safe

Feel a genuine sense of community and love being part of Creative Abilities.

Alongside these outcomes, what is really key is the ability to get on with our community and enjoy the crazy moments, the daily hugs, the numerous requests for selfies, sometimes the noise but generally the fun and laughter that comes with this role.
In return you will get to work with a great team of people who really care, who prioritise our people and go home knowing they have made a difference.
