As a Senior Medical Officer, you will play a pivotal role in providing specialist cardiology services to the population of the Bay of Plenty, contributing to the further development of Electrophysiology services and leading teams of medical professionals at a Level 2 hospital. This position is based at a 359 bed Level 2 hospital, and will include acute and elective work. The service has two Cardiac Cath Labs based on the hospital campus and this role will contribute to the further development of Electrophysiology services which were commissioned in 2022.
The successful candidate will join a department of 9 Cardiologist who share acute cardiology service responsibilities and will lead teams which include registrars and House Officers. The role includes participation in acute admission and on call roster.
There are teaching opportunities across undergraduate (years 4-6) and postgraduate (basic and advanced trainees) medicine.
