Located in Otautahi | Christchurch, Aotearoa | New Zealand Full-time (37.5 hours per week)Generous annual leave provisions and professional development opportunitiesAu Mahi | What You Will Do As the Capability and Wellbeing Manager at the University of Canterbury (UC), you will lead and develop an innovative and responsive Capability and Wellbeing team to ensure the delivery of effective, responsive, and high-quality training, development, and support to staff and people leaders. You will assist the Director, People and Culture in supporting the implementation of UC strategy through development and initiatives within the scope of the Capability and Wellbeing functions, as well as supporting the day-to-day operational needs of the University by: Engaging Leaders constructively through applying coaching and team cohesion frameworksEnsuring the Capability and Wellbeing Team are supported, developed and coached to enable successEnsuring strategic plans and operational activities link to the wider People and Culture function, and align with the University's strategic objectivesEnsuring programmes of work associated with Leadership Development, Professional Development and Wellbeing are innovative, timely, relevant, and effectively managed and deliveredUtilising data, employee insights and national/international trends, to be future-focused, building on the concept of continuous improvement.Mou | Who You Are You will be highly experienced (a minimum of 10 years' professional experience) in leading and developing capability and/or wellbeing functions in a medium-large, complex environment. You will also have: Demonstrated experience in leading a team, bringing strategic goals to life as operational performanceExperience of developing new and innovative solutionsSignificant experience in designing, developing and delivering a range of organisational development frameworksDemonstrated experience of being outcome-oriented, with a human-centric, empathetic, and collaborative styleStrong skills and experience in strategy development, project management, change management, and continuous improvementExceptional communication skills, including the ability to facilitate training and coach a wide range of staffKnowledge of wellbeing theories and practices in the NZ contextProven ability to develop and maintain stakeholder relationshipsCompetent in the use of Microsoft packages, databases, HR technology systems regarding Learning and Development or capability development softwareCompetency in te reo Maori me ona tikanga is an advantageAn alignment with our organisation's values and culture, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.Mahi Ngatahi | Who You Will Work With We recognise and value people as our most precious resource.
