Te Piki Oranga is looking for a permanent part-time (32 hours a week), Child & Adolescent Mental Health Clinician (CAMHS) to join our Wairau/Blenheim team. The option to increase these hours to full time (40 hours a week) on a fixed term basis of up to one year may also be available. You will work closely with Te Whatu Ora, other ministries and NGOs, and be an integral part of a kaupapa Maori wellness team of CAMHS Pukenga Manaaki/Whanau Navigators and Clinicians, nurses, AOD and Kaupapa Maori clinicians and social workers dedicated to making a difference for our whanau. Our team is focused on supporting whanau to realize their potential and to facilitate more equitable health and social outcomes for Maori. We work closely with other health and hapori/community services to deliver best fit options, tailored to what whanau need, now and into the future. Some of the important mahi you will be involved in Provide a recovery-oriented community-based assessment, treatment and therapy service that is accessible, integrated, coordinated and responsive to whanau needs. Build relationships with your whanau as a trusted, innovative advocate and clinician, enabling them to achieve their hauora goals, both individually and as a wider whanau. Advocate on behalf of your whanau with Nelson/Marlborough Te Whatu Ora Clinical Services and other organisations in relation to crisis responsiveness, risk identification and medication management, managed withdrawal, and psychological and other interventions. Embark on exciting learning and development pathways, both professionally and in ongoing development of cultural competency. Work as a team to deliver tailored solutions from a Te Ao Maori perspective. Develop and maintain collaborative and innovative relationships within our service and across our communities. Champion opportunities for whanau to increase equity of access and engagement and promote diversity and inclusion across all services. What we are looking for from you to be successful in this role Passionate about supporting tamariki and rangatahi to thrive. Knowledge of Te Reo me ona tikanga is desirable; support to develop cultural competency on the job in a safe environment to do so is essential to our way of working. Experience working with whanau and/or within a Maori organisation would be an advantage, as will an understanding of Maori models of practice in health or related fields. Drive to collaborate, enabling effective and constructive relationships. A commitment to continuous improvement and a solution-focused approach. Being adaptable, flexible and keen to learn - every day is different and brings different opportunities and at times, challenges. Physical, mental and emotional resilience along with a commitment as a key member of our team to constructively address and overcome challenges as they arise. Experience in mental health and working with tamariki and rangatahi. Understanding of Child protection legislation and approach. Candidates from a variety of clinical pathways are invited to apply Registered Nurse, Counsellor or allied health professional with PG Dip in Child Adolescent Mental Health or, for the right candidate, comparable experience with a commitment to undertake further study. A full driver's licence is essential, and the successful candidate must be able to pass a safety check under the Vulnerable Children's Act 2004.
