The Westgate Salvation Army Mission Centre evolve spaces for community to flourish, relationships to form and people to discover fulfillment in life - as God intended. 
About the Role: For a number of years we have had a community cafe functioning a couple of mornings a week. We now have a foyer which allows us to evolve this community space to a six day a week cafe - a profitable business that will create a safe, welcome and respectful space for all members of our communities. A place where people feel comfortable to sit and relationships can begin and grow deeper.
What will your responsibilities be: People engagement - a welcome for all, knowledge of regulars, good humour engagement,Training and mentoring of volunteer workers,Creation of great coffee,Cabinet food presentation and safety,Adequate supply levels are maintained,People are connected with TSA services as required,'Stories' are captured,Profitability of business improves.Our ideal candidate will: Be align to and passionate about the objectives of the Mission Centre. Ability to make a great coffee.Ability to relate to people from a diverse range of backgrounds.Compassionate and empathetic to the abilities of volunteers and how that might contribute to the successful functioning of the cafe.Someone who can work independently and with the wider team, solve problems and dream of what can be.Our offer to you: 2 x Salvation Army additional leave days and long service leaveDiscounted Medical Insurance with Southern CrossTSA discount card for discount with various retailors such as Beaurepairs, Noel Leeming, Placemakers and Torpedo7Free confidential counselling services to support your wellbeingSubsidised flu vaccinationsFlexible working arrangementsCandidates should be adaptable, energetic, self-motivated and committed to our mission of 'caring for people, transforming lives and reforming society' 
This role is permanent/full time and hours worked will be 37.5 per week.
The starting salary for this role will fall between $54,000 and $58,000.
The starting hourly rate for this role will fall between $26 and $28.
