About the Role : We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive CAD Technician to join our dynamic team in February 2025.
The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of CAD drawings and documentation for building consent submissions, managing Mr Draughty jobs, and providing exceptional support to clients and future staff.
You will play a critical role in the day-to-day operations of Mr Draughty, ensuring all projects are completed efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
What You'll Be Doing: Living the Values: You'll contribute to a positive workplace culture by embodying our core values of Friendly, Helpful Service, Efficient, Quality Documentation, Dependable, Reliable and Available.
Health & Safety: Ensure a safe work environment by maintaining safe working practices and promptly reporting any risks or incidents.
CAD Drawings & Documentation: Prepare top-quality CAD drawings for building consent submissions, respond to council RFIs, and address client inquiries.
Project Management: Oversee projects from start to finish, including staff coordination and occasional site visits for measurements.
Client Relations: Be the face of Mr Draughty, fostering strong client relationships and ensuring a smooth, customer-centric experience.
Administrative Duties: Handle day-to-day operations such as emails, phone calls, and invoicing through Xero.
Templates & Manuals: Keep CAD templates up to date and assist in the development of manuals to improve operational efficiency.
Quality Assurance: Review colleagues' drawings, provide constructive feedback, and ensure plans meet both regulatory and client standards.
Team Development: Mentor junior team members, contributing to a collaborative and growth-focused team environment.
Programme Management: Use tools like Monday to track project progress and coordinate effectively with the wider team.
What You'll Need: Qualifications: LBP Design Licence (or currently working towards it) is preferred.
Experience: Previous experience as a CAD Technician, ideally using ArchiCAD or similar CAD software.
Project management and client engagement experience is a plus.
Skills: Strong proficiency in ArchiCAD and a solid understanding of design principles.
Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Attributes: A collaborative team player with a proactive and positive attitude, flexible in adapting to shifting priorities.
