Job Description
The role of the Buyer encompasses the whole product life cycle. You will communicate and negotiate with our suppliers to obtain optimal in-stock rates with the lowest landed cost. This position requires a keen attention to item portfolio management, inventory management, item and supplier rationalization.
Other responsibilities include:
Procurement:
Assigned procurement
Maintain best in class service level
Maintain high in-stock rate
Reduction in PO's optimize freight
Direct Ship PO's
PO confirmations and expediting
Forecasting
Supplier Pricing:
Receive, Analysis and Update/Import
Communicate and coordinate with pricing mgr.
Importing on schedule
Product Sourcing – Product Development:
Source new products for marketing and sales development
Source Alternative items or as needed to fill customer demand
Supplier Relations / Management:
Vendor Scorecards
RFP's
Contracts
Supplier consolidation / rationalization
Inventory Management:
Maintain item stock list (stock vs nonstock)
Negotiate, schedule, and execute regular RTV's for overstock and slow inventory
Annual / bi-annual inventory exchange/returns
Maintain optimal turns and service level
Identify and disposition dead inventory
Private label
Qualifications
Able to project influence in group settings and ability to express personal point of view in a constructive and direct manner.
Continuously develop and maintain janitorial and sanitation industry trends and knowledge.
Proficient with MS Office Suite with emphasis on Excel formulas and analysis
Experience in using procurement CRMs
