The Community Wellbeing's Business Improvement team is expanding and needs more support! This role will seek to enhance and evolve our systems and processes, ways of working and service offering using effective leadership, innovation and lean methodologies to support our new delivery and reporting model. This results-oriented role is key in driving business improvement forward ensuring value for all our stakeholders. Focused on developing a pipeline of business process and system improvement activities, you will use a combination of process improvement methodologies while working to facilitate proactive and collaborative problem solving. You will be helping to identify and define improvement opportunities and projects and support the department with quality advice and evidence to inform prioritisation and sound decision-making. He angitutanga: The opportunity Day to day your responsibilities will look like: Analysing and mapping current processes, practices and other metrics to identify areas for improvement. Identifying and delivering on operational improvement opportunities through projects and continuous improvement initiatives based on evidence. Working collaboratively across the department and support business owners to achieve strategic goals and solutions that are meaningful, impactful, sustainable, safe and affordable for council and for our community. Being the continuous learning and improvement culture change champion by role-modelling the right ways of working and encouraging others to embed the new practices. Developing trusting relationships with key stakeholders inside and outside the department, fostering an environment to collaborate productively and facilitate problem-solving workshops to collaborative outcomes. Actively collaborating with the wider council Business Improvement Practitioner Network to learn and share best practices and tools, and help shaping council-wide improvements. Measuring progress towards outcomes and improvement achievements. Being a supportive team member still shaping this relatively new team in a new department. This is a permanent, full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexible working arrangements available including reduced hours if preferred (min. 32 hours). He korero mou: About you We are looking for a collaborative leader who can demonstrate the following: Tertiary qualification in business management or similar field. 5+ years' experience in delivering and embedding process and service improvements for commercial and high-performance outcomes. Experience in leading customer-centric services and delivering high performance outcomes and innovation, preferable in a high public profile environment. Strong relationship management and communication skills with a broad range of stakeholders. Project and change management experience. Experience in process mapping and using business improvement tools. Strategic thinking and highly developed leadership skills. Design and systems thinking skills. Strong MS Sharepoint, MS Excel and data analysis skills. Naturally driven, proactive and curious, and comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines in a complex political and financial environment.
