Business Development Manager / Territory Sales - Construction EquipmentAbout Us:Vertu Group is one of the fastest growing heavy machinery dealers in Australasia and is out to change up the traditional construction equipment dealer model by truly understanding our clients and providing superior, localized and friendly support - always.We are the appointed New Zealand, Pacific and VIC, AU dealer for SANY Global, Excavators, Roading and Construction Equipment and stand behind our clients offering leading after sales service and the industries leading factory backed warranties.We combine an ambitious and entrepreneurial mandate with a family-like culture.About the role:Due to growth, we are looking for a Business Development / Territory Sales Manager to join the team with direct sales responsibility for excavators & roading machinery for the critical region of Auckland + North.You will have the freedom to sell and service the region the way you feel will bring the best results. This is not an order taking role and will require a significant amount of outbound engagement with potential and existing clients. Our ideal candidate will be hands-on and results-driven, who is passionate about capital equipment. In addition, you will be hungry for sales and determined to increase our market share.You will be provided with all the tools of trade and training needed and will have the confidence to succeed, with the backing of a committed after sales team, significant supply of parts and strong backing from the supplier.Key functions of the role will include:Actively seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking and social media (both existing networks and new)Set up meetings with potential clients and build relationshipsMaintain positive relationships with existing SANY/Vertu clients and capitalize on referral businessPrepare and deliver appropriate presentations on products and servicesParticipate on behalf of the company in exhibitions or conferencesWork collaboratively with the wider sales and Vertu team to achieve the best possible outcomeGather product and market feedback from customers or prospects and share with internal teamsOur successful applicant will have the following:The right attitude and a strong work ethic. You must be a hunter, get a sense of satisfaction for 'closing the deal' and the chaseIdeally experience in the construction equipment industry / heavy machinery industry either in a Sales or After Sales capacity with established connections – although this is not criticalGood sound knowledge of construction equipment products and the NZ construction industryPassion for the industry and to grow the Vertu / SANY brand in NZ acting as a brand ambassadorFlexibility and ability to 'get the job done' without a necessarily clear path in front of themAutonomous self-starter who thrives to achieve resultsReasonable computer skills with Microsoft Office and Google SuiteExcellent written and verbal communication skills and a good command of the English languageDesired experience:Experience with one of the major NZ excavator / heavy machinery distributorsProven to be well regarded and trusted in the industry with established connectionsOur offering to you:Opportunity to work for a young, innovative company with a solid base and clear strategic plan, all of which is backed by a global Fortune 500 businessVariety of work and new challengesAs our business grows throughout NZ and Australia, you can grow with itGreat team culture.
