About the Company: Hoshay Foods (NZ) Limited is expanding its business to include the import and distribution of Asian foods and other daily products.
The company is based in Wellington and also has an office and warehouse in Auckland.
We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager to join our team in Wellington.
This is a permanent full-time role with an immediate start date.
You will be paid at a reasonable market rate.
Key responsibility Market Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify potential opportunities in the New Zealand market.
Analyze industry trends, customer behavior, and competitor strategies to identify market gaps and opportunities for growth.
Segment the market based on demographics, geography, and industry sectors to target the most profitable opportunities.
Sales Strategy Development: Develop and implement strategic sales plans to expand the restaurant's presence in New Zealand.
Identify and prioritize key accounts, distributors, and retailers to establish partnerships and drive sales growth.
Create and manage the sales pipeline, from lead generation to closing deals, ensuring consistent progress and achievement of revenue targets.
Partnership and Account Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and other partners in the food industry.
Negotiate and finalize contracts, pricing agreements, and distribution partnerships to maximize market penetration and revenue.
Provide ongoing support and management to existing accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with marketing teams to develop and execute marketing strategies tailored to the New Zealand market.
Plan and coordinate promotional campaigns, product launches, and brand activations to increase brand awareness and drive sales.
Represent the restaurant at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to expand the business network and generate leads.
Market Feedback and Strategy Adjustment: Gather feedback from customers, partners, and stakeholders to understand market needs and preferences.
Analyze sales data and performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of sales strategies and adjust plans accordingly.
Continuously monitor market trends and competitive activities to identify new business opportunities and potential threats.
Required Skills and Qualifications Sales Expertise: Proven track record in sales, business development, or account management.
Negotiation Skills: Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to influence and secure favorable agreements with partners and customers.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute strategic initiatives that align with business objectives and drive sustainable growth.
Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively articulate ideas, negotiate deals, and build relationships.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to optimize sales and marketing efforts.
Customer Focus: Customer-centric approach with a commitment to understanding and meeting customer needs and expectations.
Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions and business priorities, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
Qualification: Bachelor degree qualification is required Additional Considerations Microsoft tools: Familiar with Excel, One Drive, Outlook and etc.
Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with CRM systems, sales automation tools, and market research platforms to enhance productivity and effectiveness.
Ethical Standards: Commitment to ethical business practices and compliance with local laws and regulations.

Other details regarding the job: Working location: based in Wellington, occasional travel may be required Hours 30-40 hours per week Remuneration: Competitive market rates, with consideration of prior experience.
Approximately $30-32 per hour.
