Reporting to the KiwiRail offices located at the Wellington Railway Station, the Senior Business Analyst (BA) is a 2 year Fixed Term Contract and will work in cross-functional teams to solve business problems, deliver digital experiences that delight our customers, and result in the desired business outcomes that drive digital value. The Senior BA will consult with stakeholders and end users to elicit information, analyse problems and opportunities. By working closely with stakeholders, the wider Digital team, fellow analysts, developers, and testers, the Senior BA will ensure that solutions meet customer requirements, business decisions, and UX guidelines. The successful candidate will need to be available to travel to Christchurch one week per month on a set schedule.
The Rail Readiness programme aims to deliver business readiness improvements maximising the opportunity to create change in our work, transport, and people methodologies, that enhances KiwiRail rolling stock, plant and facilities.
What you'll do
Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and refine business requirements.
Analyse business problems, utilising applicable tools and competencies to synthesise into clear recommendations.
Test the requirements to filter out those that are critically related to the DM introduction and involve various resources and platforms.
Work to better describe the initiatives that have emerged and how to progress them.
Prioritise the initiatives with the governance group.
Make it clear where requirement responsibility lies and document this.
Continue to communicate and seek direction from the governance group.
Conduct and facilitate workshops and meetings.
Identify and document change management needs.
Provide support to the Project Manager.
What you'll need
5+ years recent Senior BA working experience.
Proven experience working as a Senior Business Analyst and related personal development in this area.
Available to travel and work away one week per month.
Experience with process modelling/mapping.
Driving consistent results.
Effective organisational and self-management skills.
A strong customer service ethic with the ability to foster good stakeholder relationships.
Have a great attitude and be ready to roll up your sleeves doing what is required to achieve the desired outcome.
