As an environmentally conscious organization, we continue to pioneer towards a Zero Carbon operation with sustainability at the forefront of our vision.Job summaryThe Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, and driving growth for the company. This role requires strong communication skills, strategic thinking, and an understanding of the waste and recycling industry.Tasks & responsibilitiesIdentify new business opportunities through market research, networking, and lead generation.Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand the company's customer base.Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing solutions.Collaborate with internal teams to develop proposals, pricing strategies, and sales presentations.Negotiate contracts and close deals with clients, ensuring profitable outcomes for the company.Stay updated on industry trends, competitors, and market changes to inform business strategies.Provide regular reports and updates on sales performance, pipeline status, and business development activities.Provide Customer Service Excellence to our customers when representing the company.Ensure a high level of accuracy is maintained when processing tickets using SCRAPIT, data entry involving invoicing, purchase and sale reconciliation, pricing, and reporting.Ensure HubSpot CRM is kept up to date weekly with all relevant activity, customer information, and pipeline opportunities.Attend weekly one-on-ones with your manager to keep up engagement and ensure coaching and development opportunities are optimized for your success.Ensure a high level of verbal and written communication when speaking to customers in-person, over the phone, and via email.Participate in team and branch-related meetings as required.Complete all tasks and paperwork with accuracy and on time.Qualifications & experienceA minimum of 5 years' sales experience.Bachelor's degree in business management or similar is desirable but not essential.Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related role, with a track record of achieving targets.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).Knowledge of the scrap metal and/or waste management industries.If you wish to be part of the Phoenix Metalman journey, please click the apply button to submit your application and resume.Your application will include the following questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in New Zealand?How many years' experience do you have as a business development manager?Do you have experience in a sales role?Do you have experience in a role which requires relationship management experience?Do you have lead generation experience?Which of the following Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems do you have experience using?Are you available to travel for this role when required?How many years of B2B sales experience do you have? #J-18808-Ljbffr
