YOUR ROLE In the position of Business Development Manager at Bunzl New Zealand, your primary objective is to drive the company's market expansion efforts by effectively advocating for Bunzl's consolidation and supply model to major new and existing accounts. This multifaceted role entails includes securing new categories/accounts and identifying new business opportunities for seamless integration into the branches. Your responsibilities include achieving ambitious sales targets, fostering strong customer relationships, strategically planning sales initiatives, and ensuring compliance with environmental and corporate responsibility policies. Additionally, your role involves collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to align business objectives and strategies while staying abreast of market trends and competitor activities to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate risks.
Key responsibilities include:
Achieving ambitious sales targets by successfully acquiring new accounts and closing proposals.Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with customers, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty.Planning and executing strategic sales initiatives to optimize our profitability and gain a competitive edge.Adhering to environmental and corporate responsibility policies, ensuring ethical business practices.Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to align business objectives and strategies.Monitoring market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.Representing the company professionally at various industry events and forums.ABOUT YOU You'll have the same entrepreneurial spirit that we live and breathe here at Bunzl.We all work together to support a common goal here at Bunzl, so your energy, organisational and communication skills will see you interacting effectively with all areas of the business to deliver a great experience and outcomes for our customers.
You've fine-tuned your relationship-building and negotiation skills from previous strategic account management roles in a B2B environment, where you successfully managed multi-level relationships, both internally and externally. Always searching for ways to challenge the status quo, you have a proven track record in developing new business, and a strong analytical and commercial background in reviewing major customers.
The essentials we are looking for are:
Proven track record in B2B sales and customer service excellence, ideally in a similar industry.Strong strategic thinking skills, with experience in sales budget preparation and margin improvement.Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.Self-driven and resilient, with the ability to work autonomously and at pace.Innovative thinker, willing to explore new ideas and approaches to achieve business objectives.It would be ideal if you also had:
