Business Development Manager – Commercial Construction Projects

Are you an experienced sales professional with a knack for identifying opportunities and building strong relationships within the commercial property and construction sector? We're looking for a Wellington-based Business Development Manager to drive new business, manage client connections, and deliver projects in the $5-10 million range across the Lower North Island. If you're well-versed in the sales psychology of commercial real estate or construction and thrive in dynamic environments, this role could be your next challenge.

Key Responsibilities: New Business Development: Proactively identify and connect with developers and businesses in need of commercial design and build services, fostering long-term client relationships. Sales Pipeline Management: Manage the sales process from initial contact through to signed contracts, ensuring a seamless handover to the project management team once the project is secured. Project Scoping and Oversight: Oversee the initial stages of design-only contracts, staying involved to ensure smooth transitions through to build contracts as needed. Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including design, pre-construction, and production, to ensure client expectations are met and projects are set up for success. Ideal Candidate Profile: Background in Construction or Real Estate: Solid experience in business development within commercial construction, real estate, or property development, with knowledge of the Wellington and Horowhenua markets. Sales Expertise: Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, build connections, and secure contracts on projects valued at $5-10 million. Relationship Builder: Strong network and connections, with a passion for building and sustaining long-term partnerships in the commercial sector. Understanding of Sales Psychology: An insightful sales approach with the ability to tailor strategies to meet the needs of diverse clients in commercial real estate and construction.
