What a Business Analyst does at Visa
The Business Analyst is a key role in the Product and Engineering teams, working within a cross-functional Agile delivery team and across the Product Engineering stream. As an experienced contributor, you will work alongside other business analysts as well as other team members. This is a hands-on analysis role, where you will facilitate the creation, understanding, and transition of business requirements into working software solutions.
This role requires dedication to Business Analysis technical excellence, team collaboration, and supporting business analysis initiatives within your Product stream and Business Analysis group. Strong communication skills are essential when working with a wide range of stakeholders and influencers within your Product Engineering stream, including Product Owners, Product Management, Engineering leadership, and, at times, Visa Spend Clarity's banking partners.
Business Analysis
Discover, gather, investigate, and elicit requirements and critical information from key internal and external stakeholders where appropriate.
Accept accountability for user stories and requirements meeting the definition of ready.
Understand customer needs through collaboration with Product Owners and Product Managers.
Perform requirements analysis, document, and communicate the analytical findings.
Review and prioritize the team backlog with the Product Owners as part of the preparatory work for iteration planning, including coordination of dependencies with other Product Owners.
Ensure alignment with internal and external stakeholders as required.
Work with Product Owners in building, refining, and maintaining a releasable backlog as required.
Ensure all functional and non-functional requirements are captured when creating stories and tasks with the team.
Engage with the team to prepare backlog items and facilitate refinements prior to planning.
Review working software against business requirements and processes to ensure original drivers of new functionality are satisfied.
Assist with user acceptance test scripts for partners and customers.
Contribute to business analysis initiatives in the Stream and Spend Clarity Business Analyst community.
Fill in for the Product Owner when required.
Conduct workshops to explore ideas and solutions.
Facilitate effective meetings and act as a moderator in discussions.
Seek diverse learning opportunities and perspectives, quickly apply new knowledge and skills to work, use work challenges as opportunities to facilitate new innovative solutions.

Your role is pivotal in preparing requirements for development by understanding the business drivers and values while providing alignment with your team's deliverables and your Product Engineering stream's strategic roadmap.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Minimum Requirements
The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of commercial experience in software product development, specifically in roles such as Solution Analyst or Business Analyst, with experience in practicing Agile methodology.
