About the role
The Building Services Manager is a hands-on role, setting direction and leading the Building Services team to ensure the site delivers all planned and preventative maintenance, meets the NZ building code through proactive management of the building, plant, electrical and mechanical services, carpentry, painting, and maintenance systems including general site maintenance, upkeep, and general repair. This role will also be a strategic thinker and/or a subject matter expert when it comes to plant replacement and capital reinvestment.
You will also:
Ensure the Building Services team is operating efficiently and effectively with appropriate levels of skill via development, upskilling and support.
Develop and maintain contractor and key stakeholder relationships.
Ensure the business is supported 24/7 by the Building Services team.
This is a Full Time opportunity, working 40 hours per week.
About you

To be successful in this role, you will also:
Have extensive experience in building code and general building and plant maintenance.
Have technical capability / be trade qualified in a specialist field such as Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing and Drainage or carpentry.
Have strong and logical problem-solving capability.
Be able to focus on continuous improvement, cost efficiencies and ability to see the big picture while maintaining attention to detail.
Be able to manage a team, delegate tasks effectively and maintain oversight of job requests.
Be physically able to undertake the manual handling requirements of the position.
Hold Site Safe accreditation.
