Due to an exciting period of rapid growth, investing in technology, data and new ways of working, they are looking for a passionate, talented, and driven Building Inspector to join their team in the West Midlands.What's in it for you:£40,000 - £52,000 per annum + bonusCompany Car27 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) and a holiday purchase scheme + 2 days volunteer leaveGenerous pension scheme, with an employer contribution of up to 10.5%Subsidised private medical insurance + 24/7 employee assistance programme supporting your mental wellbeingCycle to Work scheme + Employee discounts platform, including gym discountsEqualised maternity, paternity, adoption leave and pay for all new parentsPayroll Giving (make donations to your chosen charity through monthly pay deductions)Have control of your own diary and the autonomy to do the job as you think bestWorking day starts when you leave home (not when you arrive at your first call)NO WEEKEND WORKFull training and the ongoing support of your line manager and wider teamYour Responsibilities:Work with registered builders to ensure that the new homes they are building meet the Standards, Building Regulations and other relevant legislationBuild excellent working relationships with the site managers on your patchWork with site managers to identify and prevent construction defectsHelp manage the insurance risk and create the very best homes for new home buyersRequired Skills:Significant and relevant house-building or construction experienceAbility to listen, build rapport, establish credibility and build effective working relationshipsInfluence and deal with potential disagreements in an assertive manner that maintains relationshipsAbility to gather and analyse information to support decision makingAble to describe the house building process and how the trades interact with each otherBe comfortable working frequently at height (this is a physically demanding role requiring visits to construction sites and inspection of buildings throughout the whole of the build process)A keen interest in learning and keeping up to date with industry-related improvements, building standards and developmentsFocus on customer satisfaction and delivering a quality service to agreed standardsHolding or working towards a construction-related qualification such as City and Guilds, HNC, HND or NVQ (or equivalent) preferredA full Driving licence is required for this role as travel is required across the West MidlandsFor more information on the role please contact Chloe at Thorn Baker on (phone number removed) or email: TCH01
