The Building Control Officer - Processing is responsible for delivering high quality technical advice on all aspects of the building consent process to ensure alignment with the Building Consent Authority (BCA). You will conduct comprehensive evaluation and assessment of Building Consent applications in accordance with the building code standards. This role will conduct technical and quality audits and take proactive steps in initiating enforcement actions in alignment with Council policy.

To be successful in this role you will have:
Qualification in Building Control Surveying or relevant level 6 qualification
Minimum of 2 years of experience in areas of consenting, processing, inspections or compliance
Relevant experience in the building industry
Ability to exercise sound judgement, excellent decision making and problem-solving skills
An eye for detail to ensure you provide accurate support, process focused with strong emphasis on continuous improvement
Experience of working for Local Government or a government department would be an advantage.
