As a Building Control Officer (BCO) Inspections you will be working within our Building Inspections team to ensure that buildings in Tauranga City are safe and comply with the Building Act 2004. The role will involve being out and about on-site conducting inspections, providing advice and support to customers on building consent matters and then completing the necessary paperwork and reporting requirements.
The role offers flexibility to work between home and the office when not out and about conducting onsite visits. The organisation provides a supportive environment for continual learning and development, you will have the opportunity to undertake ongoing development and training to keep up with ongoing changes to industry practices and regulation changes as well as your own ongoing personal development.
Nga Pukenga | What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you'll bring;
Regulation 18 qualification of the Building (Accreditation of Building Consent Authorities) Regulations 2006 or be working towards one.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Positive approach to assisting customers.
Problem solving and decision making skills.
Industry experience within the construction sector would be advantageous.
Ability to work effectively within a very highly structured regulatory framework.
