About the role Due to an internal promotion, we have an opportunity for a compliance officer to join our building solutions team. The building compliance officer is responsible for monitoring residential and commercial construction and enforcing compliance with the building act and code.
Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Respond to, investigate and resolve all cases of non-compliant building work with the Building Act, Building Code and Council Bylaws located within the District, including issuing notices.Peer review/audit inspections as required.Preparing information required for enforcement action, prosecutions or information related to claims or cases.Issuing relevant documentation under the Building Act 2004 including certificates of acceptance; certificate of public use; amended compliance schedules.Maintain excellent records and/or reports on all compliance investigations and inspections.To be successful in this role you will: Have a technical qualification in alignment with building compliance activities and/or have experience in a relevant building or compliance role.Be passionate about your personal professional development and eager to further develop your technical knowledge of the Building Act 2004.Possess high attention to detail and organisational skills.Be a confident communicator, solutions focused and resilient – we're looking for a problem solver who demonstrates the ability to make informed, sound decisions, and communicates these well.What's in it for you?
